Elements are groups of three zodiac signs that have a similar approach to life. There are four elements in total—Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. Ancient astrologers named them for things they saw in nature.
Fire signs: Aries, Sagittarius and Leo

They act first and think and feel later. They tend to be willful, passionate, enthusiastic, independent and competitive
Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn
They’re: grounded, like the Earth

They’re reliable, practical, organized, structured, cautious, persistent and work-oriented
Air signs: Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini
They’re: viewing life from a high-level, fifty-thousand-foot perspective, like the air
They’re motivated to: think
They’re objective and value logic and reason more than feelings
Water signs: Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio
They’re: deep, mysterious, like the ocean
They’re motivated to: feel
They’re emotional, sensitive, and intuitive. They feel their way through things rather than relying only on their intellect
