Jupiter is the voice in your head that: tells you, you can do anything! 

The History:  Ancient astrologers knew about Jupiter. Ancient scientist, Galileo Galilei, discovered Jupiter and also four largest moons of Jupiter called Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto in 1610. 

It’s made up of: hydrogen and  helium

The Astronomy: the largest planet in the solar system. It’s the Fifth planet from the Sun. It’s a gas giant. You can fit all the planets in the solar system in it twice over. 

Can you see Jupiter with the naked eye: Yes! It appears very bright white in the night sky. It outshines Sirius – the brightest star in the sky. Take that Sirius. But it’s not the brightest – that trophy goes to Venus. 

You can see it best: At night of course 

 The Mythology:  named after the king of the gods in Roman mythology. ancient Greeks named the planet after Zeus, the king of the Greek pantheon.

Jupiter fun facts:

-       It’s got a giant red spot in the middle of it 

-       It has the largest ocean in the solar system 

-       Jupiter has 79 moons 

 If Jupiter were a person or thing, he would be: your friend who is pathologically positive who went abroad one summer a few years ago and never moved back.
