What Is It: Mundane astrology is the astrology of countries, world affairs and world events. By taking the date of a countries founding, you can create its “birth” chart and make forecasts of what may happen in the countries future or what get insight into what may be going on now. It is connected to Political astrology because it deals with the affairs of a country, but it’s not entirely the same because it does not focus on elections.

How Does It Work: Every country has a birth chart. That’s because every country was officially founded on a certain day. It’s their birth day. For example, America’s birthday is July 4th 1776. The USA is a Cancer.  In mundane astrology, you would use a countries birth chart to see where the planets were during a specific time now, in the past or in the future, and their aspects to each other, because they tell a story. You may also look back in time to when there were similar patterns or planetary formations to get insight into what might happen in the future - as it will have a similar astrological theme or trend as in the past.

How to Use It In Your Daily Life: The country you live in has a birth chart. By using mundane astrology you can get a heads up about potential events in your country. You can also look at the chart of an event (like a war, protest or natural disaster just to name a few) that happened at a specific timeframe to see what planets were involved to get insight into the reasons behind the event.
